Cashbook, 1853 Sept.-1866 Oct., kept by the building firm of McGuire & Sloane, formerly McGuire, Drennan & Sloane, of New York City. Entries record receipts for work done as well as expenses for rents, hardware, lumber, wages, advertising, etc. The firm was originally established by partners Samuel K. McGuire, John Drennan, and William Sloane. Drennan left the partnership in 1854 and the name of the firm was changed to McGuire & Sloane.
